MAURIEL MOREJON
(1976 - )
Mauriel Morejon was born in Cienfuegos, Cuba on
December 23rd, 1976, the son of an Italian father and a Cuban
mother. When Mauriel entered the Havana Art Academy in 1993 he
perfected his talent and skill for painting and consequently created
his own visual world. Landscape painting has a long and honored
history, Mauriel Morejon is one of the more thoughtful painters.
His treatment of opposites, such as light and dark or delicate
and massive, sets up a dynamic interplay that excites the mind.
His paintings are formal, dignified yet warmly human. Over the
next several years, his canvas works received critical acclaim
in major exhibitions in Cuba, Italy and throughout Europe.
In 1999 he arrived in Phoenix Arizona and became
one of the most renowned muralists in the State. He also received
the Award of Merit for an exhibition at the National Museum of
Cataluya, Spain in 2002. The Arizona Heritage 2005 Exhibition
and the Arizona Flora Protection Expo, Yuma Art Center art beat
3 in 2010.
Mauriel is also a member of the American Art Foundation;
Arizona Artists; Yuma Art Commission; The International Artist
Forum; Europa Artist Union; and the Phoenix Art Commission.
His
extensive travels usually take him to places that appeal to him
not only visually but on an emotional level as well. Mauriel is
going back in time. He loves what is spiritual, not just skills.
Renaissance is his style; Human Composition is his goal. You will
never meet an artist who is more passionate about his paintings.
