JEANETTE KORAB
Jeanette Korab’s latest creations are the
culmination of her passion for multiple art forms and techniques,
infused with her inspirations as a world traveler. Painting, sculpture,
architecture, dance, photography and more imbue her pieces with
a metaphorical glimpse into the universal human condition.
She initially studied art and photography, received
a BFA from Stephens College in Columbia Missouri. After teaching
at the American fashion College in Lucerne, Switzerland, she entered
the Masters Program in Fashion Illustration at Texas Women’s
University.
Jeanette soon developed a highly successful career as a fashion
photographer with a prestigious clientele, including Neiman –
Marcus and W magazine. In the 1990’s she incorporated 3
– D painting into her illustrations of social icons like
Elizabeth Taylor. Her subsequent marriage to the artist Vladimir
Gorsky exposed her to the international fine art world where she
managed his career. After his death, she expanded deeper into
the multi – level aspects of painting, creating mixed media
pieces based on her highly theatrical style of photography.
The
Venice Carnevale Series is a supreme blend of mysterious, costumed
elegance in a surreal, exotic location, with gorgeous light on
beautiful bodies, all pushed into a dream with delirious dancing
whorls of paint.
