WILL
(ZEV) SHERMAN
(1930-1973)
Zev Sherman was born in New
York City in 1930 and for many years resided in a lovely,
almost hidden community just on the out-skirts of Manhattan.
Mr. Sherman was a graduate of
the School of Art and Design in New York.
His powerful oil paintings were
enhanced with his then time newly discovered, highly imaginative
drip technique which, immediately captured the attention of
the art community.
He has exhibited at every major
art event including, Zev walked away with laurels for his
highly sensitive portraits and figure studies.
Mr. Sherman was a member of the
Board of Directors of the Island Art Guild.
He has a multitude of collectors
which included: Ruth Lyon Stone and Jack Hirshman.
In
February of 1973 it was announced that a most talented and
promising artist, Mr. Will (Zev) Sherman, has painted his
last painting at the age of 43.
